Chapter 1, more or less

well heres the first part ive written, it needs some correction as far as the grammar goes but this is pretty much it.

Chapter 1

Literary effort

So ive started work on writing a story, ill post bits and pieces of it up as i complete them, gimme your opinions

Altruism

Altruism, the concept of living for the sake of others without seeking any form of self gratification.
It just isn't possible. If one were to examine the people who strive to be altruistic, they are always seeking self-gratification on some level or the other. They enjoy the feeling of having people feel grateful towards them, whether they realise it or not.
Im not saying being generous and performing charitable acts are wrong. Im not saying its not a great and noble deed either. That's a different argument entirely. What i am saying is wrong is, people expect praise and recognition for performing such 'noble' deeds. This want of acknowledgement in itself breaks the concept of altruism.
Like it or not, the basic law of human nature is that you never do something unless you get something in return, no matter how esoteric such a reward may be.
For altruists, their reward is the feeling of well-being or satisfaction they get. It's as simple as that.

Mallus

Today i will undertake to educate the world on the topic of malayalis, or mallus. Now for Non-Indians mallus are basically a subgroup of Indians, though such a minor description does them gross injustice. So without further ado let me delve deeper into their chaotic world.

Now considerin that my circle of close friends is dominated by these lunatics, I consider myself fully qualified to describe them. Their innate characteristics are so contradictory that I often wonder how God even came up with the idea of creating this lot.

To put it simply, a mallu is that friend who frustrates you the most, almost to the point of you wanting to wring his/her neck, yet at the same time makes you look forward to their presence just to take the insanely boring edge off life. Make no mistake, boredom can never be in the presence of a mallu. Its somewhat akin to a candle and darkness, though the comparison isnt entirely justified as the light is also a symbol of order. Mallus on the other hand.. chaotic is the word.

But for all that I grumble about them I have to admit that without that lot i would probably be in jail after killing a mob of people out of sheer boredom.
